CEO Yeo Sung-koo of Pantos Logistics, Korea's largest logistics company, received the 'top manager's grand prize' at the 13th Korea Logistics Grand Awards, which are presented by the Korea Logistics Society, on June 3.
CEO Yeo has been honored for his contribution to enhancing the competitiveness of Korea's logistics industry and advancing the sector through the expansion of global networks, including the establishment of overseas affiliates, and the continuous innovation of logistics through IT, including the development of a supply chain visibility system and the cultivation of talented industry professionals.
Since his inauguration as the CEO of Pantos Logistics in 2002, Yeo has helped develop the company into a global logistics firm with annual sales of 2.3 trillion won and the largest overseas network (83 affiliates and branches in 35 countries) among Korean logistics firms. He is said to have upgraded logistics IT in Korea to the next level by constructing the Pantos Visibility System, a real-time, integrated freight tracking system customized for clients, and the Global Single Instance (GSI), which integrates and unifies all the systems of 83 affiliates and branches in 35 countries worldwide via the web for the first time among Korean logistics firms.
Yeo is also serving as the chairman of the logistics committee at the Korea Chamber of Commerce and Industry and as the senior vice chairman of the Korea Integrated Logistics Association.
The Korea Logistics Society (Chairman Lee Heon-soo) has presented the Korea Logistics Grand Awards since 1998 to companies, top managers and organizations that innovate and enhance logistics services in order to further develop Korea's logistics industry.
