LX Pantos Publishes Inaugural Sustainability Report

On March 31, 2023, LX Pantos published its first-ever sustainability report, marking a significant milestone since its establishment. LX Pantos is not a publicly traded company, which means, unlike other publicly traded companies, it is free from obligation to publish such a report. Still, LX Pantos has set a rare example by voluntarily issuing a comprehensive sustainability report—indicating that the company has made enough significant progress in its commitment to environmental, social, and governance (ESG) management practices to publish such a comprehensive report.
The report, titled LX Pantos Sustainability Report 2023, not only outlines the company’s ESG performance but also lays out its strategic approach to advancing sustainability. Aligning with the ESG management principles of its parent group, LX Group, LX Pantos has produced this report to communicate its dedication and vision for ESG management openly and transparently with stakeholders.
Under the overarching ESG vision of “Value Deliverer for People and the Planet,” LX Pantos has articulated a four-pronged approach to ESG: “Planet Together” is the slogan for sustainable logistics for the environment; “Community Together” and “People Together” are the two slogans conveying its social commitment to community and partners, respectively; and “Responsible Business Together” is the slogan for governance.
The report also highlights LX Pantos’s achievements over the past year, showcasing its commitment to sustainability. Notable accomplishments include obtaining a Bronze rating in the global ESG assessment conducted by EcoVadis, participating as the first Korean company in the Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) program, and voluntarily engaging in the Carbon Disclosure Project (CDP). The company has also provided free-of-charge emergency airlift of relief supplies to Ukraine and free support for the maritime transportation of relief goods to earthquake-stricken Turkey. In addition, LX Pantos has initiated numerous support projects for small- and medium-sized enterprises’ multimodal transportation to Europe.
This inaugural report adheres to international standards for sustainability reporting, including the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) Standards 2021 and the disclosure standards of the U.S. Sustainability Accounting Standards Board (SASB).
LX Pantos CEO Choi Won-hyuk emphasized the critical role of ESG management in the evolving logistics supply chain, explaining, “Logistics functions as the lifeblood of the economy. In the process of performing our day-to-day activities, we will continue to fulfill all our roles and responsibilities at the highest standard, thereby contributing to LX Group’s management philosophy, which we call ‘Link to a Sustainable Future.’”
Going forward, LX Pantos has committed to the annual release of its sustainability report, providing an integrated overview of financial and non-financial performance results. The report is accessible in both Korean and English on the LX Pantos website (www.lxpantos.com) under the dedicated ESG page. This move signifies LX Pantos’s committed adherence to transparency and sustainability in its corporate practices.
