LX Pantos Transported Record-High 1.65M TEUs in 2021
- A 13% increase compared to 2020, recording the world’s 6th largest container volume throughput
- Supporting Korean exporters amid the global supply disruption with a fully reliable 360-hub global network
On March 24, 2022, LX Pantos, a global total logistics company led by CEO Choi Won-hyuk, proudly announced a significant milestone—the attainment of an all-time high in container volume through maritime operations in the previous year.
According to the announcement, the company achieved a total global maritime container volume of 1,658,000 TEUs (twenty-foot equivalent units) in fiscal year 2021, representing an impressive 13% increase from the previous year’s 1.46 million TEUs. With this substantial throughput volume, LX Pantos secured the 6th position among global logistics (forwarding) entities based on volume. In the dynamic global logistics landscape, where economies of scale play a crucial role, handled cargo volume serves as a key indicator of a logistics company’s competitiveness.
The sheer magnitude of LX Pantos’s achievement becomes apparent when considering that the containers processed in the past year, if laid out side by side, would extend over 10,000 km—roughly the same distance from Seoul to New York
LX Pantos credits this outstanding performance to its extensive network of 360 global logistics hubs and collaborative partnerships with major global shipping companies. Even in the face of global supply chain disruption, the company’s capability to efficiently manage increasing customer volume has not only showcased its resilience and adaptability but also enhanced its prominent position in the industry.
Benefiting from this surge in its throughput, LX Pantos achieved record-breaking business results in 2021, defying the challenges posed by the post-pandemic aftermath. On March 23, 2022, the company’s consolidated financial statements for FY2021 reported a remarkable 64.1% year-on-year increase in sales, reaching KRW 7,817.7 billion, along with an impressive 124.8% YoY surge in operating profit, totaling KRW 360.4 billion for FY2021.
As one LX Pantos official put it: “As a world-class logistics company that can competitively handle container volume at the highest international level, we are committed to serving as a stalwart logistics ally for our export partners in the years to come.”
Beyond its export-import maritime logistics services, LX Pantos offers a comprehensive suite of logistics solutions. Its full-service logistics, covering air logistics, e-commerce logistics, railway transportation, warehouse operations, and inland transportation, plays a crucial role in facilitating the overseas expansion and business growth of Korean export companies.
